A loft conversion to a chalet style bungalow
The proposed changes we designed for this large chalet bungalow included a loft conversion along with alterations to the layout at the rear of the property on the lower level. Stairs to the loft were located at the heart of the house, an area from which all of the rooms in the property could be accessed. The kitchen was positioned at the far left, next door to the dining room which featured two doors leading out into the garden and another set of doors connected to the lounge on the right. The lounge also featured patio doors that allowed immediate access to the garden. The first floor consisted of two bedrooms, one of which contained an en suite bathroom at the back of the house.
The dividing wall between the kitchen and the dining area was knocked through to open up the space completely, retaining the patio doors leading to the garden. A new set of double doors were put in place at the entrance connecting it with the hallway. On the first floor the large bedroom on the left hand side of the property was divided to create a new bedroom with the Velux window also removed. A new window was then installed on the back wall looking out over the garden. The en suite bathroom for the bedroom on the right hand side was reduced in size and in its place a walk-in wardrobe was constructed.
